Event Description

Trans Am National – Barber Motorsports Park 2025

The Trans Am Series National Championship heads to Barber Motorsports Park on September 25-28, 2025, for the Barber SpeedTour, a late-season spectacle. Located in Birmingham, Alabama, the 2.38-mile, 17-turn road course is renowned for its pristine layout, challenging elevation changes, and park-like setting, complete with quirky sculptures and meticulously landscaped grounds. Following VIR and preceding the season finale at COTA, this event promises intense racing as drivers vie for crucial points.

All five Trans Am classes—TA, TA2, XGT, SGT, and GT—will compete, with over 50 cars expected. TA showcases 850+ horsepower machines like Dodge Challengers and Chevrolet Camaros, while TA2 features tight battles with production-based cars. XGT and SGT bring exotic GT machinery, and GT adds agile sports cars to the mix. The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) joins the lineup, adding historic racers that complement Trans Am’s legacy. The Barber Vintage Festival, running concurrently, draws massive crowds with its motorcycle museum, swap meet, and fan activities.

Barber’s track, dubbed the “Augusta of Motorsports,” offers fans prime viewing from the Alabama hillside, with spots like Turn 5’s “Museum Corner” providing close-up action. The late September weather, typically in the mid-80s with a chance of humidity, sets a warm backdrop, with the surrounding 740 acres in full autumnal bloom. The paddock is open for fans to interact with drivers and teams, while the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum—housing over 1,600 motorcycles—adds a cultural highlight.

The TA2 race, a 42-lap, 75-minute sprint, is scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. CT, followed by the TA/XGT/SGT/GT feature on Sunday morning. Gates open at 8:00 a.m. daily, with weekend passes starting at $50, and kids 12 and under free. Live streaming on the Trans Am YouTube channel ensures global access to the high-speed action at this world-class facility, blending modern racing with Barber’s unique charm.
