Event Description

Trans Am National – Laguna Seca 2025

The iconic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca hums with anticipation as the Trans Am Series National Championship roars to life. Nestled in California’s Monterey Peninsula, the 2.238-mile, 11-turn circuit, famed for its treacherous Corkscrew and sweeping Andretti Hairpin, sets the stage for a thrilling spectacle. The crisp winter air carries the scent of burning rubber and the rumble of over 70 high-powered machines, from snarling Mustangs and Camaros to sleek Corvettes and Challengers, across five classes: TA, TA2, XGT, SGT, and GT.

The paddock buzzes with energy as teams fine-tune their cars, their vibrant liveries gleaming under the California sun. Drivers, a mix of seasoned champions and hungry newcomers, strategize for the challenging track, where elevation changes and technical corners demand precision. Fans, bundled against the January chill, line the grandstands, eager for the thunderous start. The event, part of the Mission Foods Laguna Seca SpeedTour, blends the National and Western Championships, promising packed grids and fierce battles.

In the TA class, expect raw power with 850+ horsepower beasts vying for dominance. TA2, known for its close racing, showcases drivers’ skill in production-based cars. XGT and SGT bring exotic GT machinery, while GT adds variety with nimble sports cars. Historic Trans Am racers, celebrating the series’ legacy since 1966, add nostalgia, their classic designs contrasting modern muscle. Spectators roam the open paddock, marveling at the engineering and chatting with crews.

The atmosphere is electric, with the Corkscrew’s dizzying drop amplifying every overtake. As engines rev for the green flag, the stage is set for heart-pounding action, where strategy, speed, and bravery will define the day. Laguna Seca’s legacy as a bucket-list track ensures this Trans Am showdown will be unforgettable.
