Event Description

Trans Am National – Road America 2025

The Trans Am Series National Championship rolls into Road America on July 3-6, 2025, for the Ryan Companies Road America Classic, a centerpiece of the 2025 season. Set in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, the 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit—known as “America’s National Park of Speed”—spans 640 acres of pristine countryside, offering a challenging layout with long straights, sweeping bends, and the iconic Kink. This event, part of the Independence Day weekend, follows Mid-Ohio and precedes Watkins Glen, making it a critical stop for championship contenders.

All five Trans Am classes—TA, TA2, XGT, SGT, and GT—will compete, with over 60 cars expected on the grid. TA features thunderous 850+ horsepower machines like Chevrolet Corvettes and Dodge Challengers, while TA2 promises tight racing with drivers like Rafa Matos, who won here in 2024, and Chris Dyson, a Road America veteran. XGT and SGT bring exotic GT cars, and GT adds variety with nimble sports cars. The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association also joins, showcasing historic racers that complement Trans Am’s legacy since 1966.

Road America’s sprawling layout offers unparalleled fan experiences, with natural viewing areas like the Carousel and Canada Corner providing prime spots to witness the action. The July weather, typically in the high 70s with a chance of scattered showers, sets a vibrant summer scene, with lush greenery and the scent of grilled brats from fan tailgates filling the air. The paddock buzzes with activity, offering up-close access to cars and drivers, while the TA2 race on Saturday afternoon—45 laps of wheel-to-wheel action—kicks off the main events, followed by the TA/XGT/SGT/GT feature on Sunday.
