The 2025 6 Hours of Fuji, scheduled for September 26-28 at Fuji Speedway, Japan, is the seventh round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Held at the iconic 4.563km circuit, nestled beneath Mount Fuji, this high-speed track with 16 turns (10 right, 6 left) and a 1.5km straight challenges teams with its technical layout and unpredictable weather. As Japan’s premier endurance race, it draws global attention, featuring 37 entries—19 Hypercars and 18 LMGT3 cars from manufacturers like Toyota, Porsche, Ferrari, and Aston Martin.
The weekend begins with Free Practice on September 26, followed by Qualifying and Hyperpole on September 27, setting the grid for the September 28 race, starting at 11:00 AM JST. Toyota Gazoo Racing, racing on home soil, aims to repeat their 2024 dominance, where their #8 GR010 HYBRID, driven by Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa, secured victory. The tight championship battle, with Porsche leading Ferrari by just four points in 2024, promises intense Hypercar competition. In LMGT3, Manthey EMA’s Porsche led in 2024, but Aston Martin and Ford are poised to challenge.
Fuji’s high-speed straights and demanding corners, like the 100R and Panasonic Curve, test aerodynamics and driver skill, with Hypercars reaching 310kph. The event attracts passionate Japanese fans, with tickets starting at ¥12,000 for general admission and ¥25,000 for premium grandstand seats offering pit lane views and autograph sessions. Local heroes like Kamui Kobayashi and Ryo Hirakawa add excitement, while off-track festivities include cultural displays and food stalls showcasing Japanese cuisine. With Fuji Speedway confirmed on the WEC calendar until 2026, the 2025 race is set to deliver thrilling action, strategic battles, and a vibrant atmosphere under Mount Fuji’s majestic backdrop.
