Event Description

World Endurance Championship – Qatar 1812 km 2025

The Qatar 1812 km race, set for February 26-28, 2025, at the Lusail International Circuit, promises to ignite the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with a thrilling season opener. This 10-hour endurance spectacle, named in honor of Qatar National Day (December 18), will see 36 cars—split evenly between Hypercar and LMGT3 categories—tackle the 5.419 km track’s 16 challenging turns, blending high-speed straights with technical corners. The event, part of the Lusail Speed Fest, marks the second year of Qatar’s six-year WEC contract, showcasing a global stage for motorsport excellence.

Fans can expect fierce competition as 14 manufacturers, including Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, and BMW, vie for supremacy. The Hypercar class will feature debuts like the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Mercedes-AMG’s return via Iron Lynx, alongside stars like Valentino Rossi and Kevin Magnussen transitioning to endurance racing. The LMGT3 category promises intense battles, with teams like TF Sport’s Corvette and Manthey Racing’s Porsche 911 GT3 R aiming to dominate. The Iron Dames, an all-female lineup, will add inspiration to the grid.

The timetable kicks off with Free Practice 1 on Wednesday, followed by qualifying and Hyperpole sessions on Thursday, setting the stage for Friday’s race day. The Lusail Classic Endurance Race and Qatar Touring Car Championship will complement the main event, while the Fanzone offers family-friendly entertainment, live music, and autograph sessions. Tickets, priced at 200 QAR, grant access to paddock walks and VIP hospitality options like the Le Mans Spirit Club. With a fireworks display planned post-race, the Qatar 1812 km is set to deliver a blend of speed, strategy, and spectacle under the Lusail lights, captivating fans onsite and via live streams on FIA WEC platforms.
